Dont like all the gangster rap stuff... but dont agree that no rap or hip hop has any artistic merit. Some good stuff has been made but then I suppose like any music genre it depends on your emotional reaction to the music you hear. In the same way I cannot stand any kind of country & western music..

Some music of black origin is fine eg. Calypso, soul, jazz etc.
